Sportsmanship

Sportsmanship

Good sportsmanship is when everyone treats each other with respect and fairness (teammates, opponents, coaches, and officials). You always have to treat others, the way you want to be treated, with respect. :)

Always try to be a good sport by trying to:
  • Play fair
  • Be a team player
  • Stay positive
  • Keep trash talk to a minimum
  • Lose gracefully
  • Win with class
  • Respect the rulings of the officials.

If you would like to know more about how to be a good sportsmanship click here :)

Sportsmanship is so important there is a national sportsmanship day!!! :) The national sportsmanship day was March 1, 2011.  So HAPPY SPORTSMANSHIP DAY :D

Ken Griffey a 41 year old who played baseball for Mariners, Reds and WhiteSox said “I can’t play being mad. I go out there and have fun. It’s a game, and that’s how I am going to treat it." Which is very true. If you are loosing i am pretty sure being mad and being disrespectful is NOT going to help you win. So just relax and try your best :)

I found a touching story, it’s about Emily, a eight year old that burst in tears after her softball game ended. Emily was not crying because her team had lost, or because her opponents  offended her. Emily was crying because her father yelled at her when she missed a fly ball that could have saved the game.

Also the softball video of Central Washington and West Oregon was a very inspirational
This video was amazing. Sarah accomplished her goal, and its wonderful how Liz and Mallary from central Washington helped her complete the home run and not just that, but they helped her finish and complete her goal. Definitely it was a very inspirational story. I wish all teams were like them. Liz and Mallary did not mind loosing the game, as long as they helped Sarah.   Both Central Washington and West Oregon are great teams.

Huntington Park High School Reconstitution

In six weeks Huntington Park High School won't exist. Class of 2011 will be the last class to graduate from HPHS. I believe the reconstitution will affect many of the students and staff. The students from Huntington Park tried stopping this by walking-out on the day of the LAUSD meeting.  Students walked approximately 10-13 miles to downtown where the meeting was being held. I believe the walkout was really irresponsible of all the students. The students and staff should of reacted in a different way.  If they had decided to do a sit -in and the sit-in was planned they should have stuck to that. I don't have anything against the people that walked out but there was different ways to reacting to this situation that would of made us look better. By walking out, it made us look like rebellious irresponsible students. What was the point of 300 students walking-out if only 3 were allowed to go in the meeting, and those 3 students were only allowed to speak for three minutes. I like the fact that all the students are united, and we could have made a change but in a more peaceful, planed and smarter way.

One of the best things about life :D

SISTERS :)

Sisters are amazing. I have two older sisters. Sarah who is 27, and Marcela who is 23. I think having a sister is like having a best friend you can't get rid of. It doesn’t matter what you do you they are always there for you.
Unfortunately my older sister Sarah wasn’t raised with us, my grandparents raised her, so I really didn’t know how she was. But she was an AWESOME sister, when she did come to live with us. Sarah didn’t come live with us until she was twenty, at that time I was only 10. I always knew I had a sister, and I would go to Mexico and visit her, but I never knew how she was, and I always wondered if she was easy to get along with or not. But she is, Sarah is serious but has a wonderful personality. Now Sarah has been married for the past five years, lives in Mexico, had a baby named Yaakov (Hebrew for Jacob). Marcela in other hand is very playful. My sister Marcela has an astonishing personality that makes my day cheerful. It doesn’t matter if Marcela is sick, tired, hungry, mad, or disappointed, she always smiles and makes your day magnificent. Marcela now works for South Gate police department. I am very proud of Marcela because she achieved her dream, and she set the example that everything is possible. I love both of my sisters for who they are, and how they treat our parents and me.

Quotes about sisters:
*Sisters are probably the most competitive relationship within the family, but once the sisters are grown, it becomes the strongest relationship.
*A sister smiles when one tells one's stories - for she knows where the decoration has been added.
*A sister is a forever friend.
*When mom and dad don't understand, a sister always will.
*To the outside world we all grow old.  But not to brothers and sisters.  We know each other as we always were.  We know each other's hearts.  We share private family jokes.  We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys.
*There is no better friend than a sister.  And there is no better sister than you.
*Husbands come and go; children come and eventually they go. Friends grow up and move away. *But the one thing that’s never lost is your sister.

Wellness, Health and Fitness?

Wellness, Health, Fitness

Your health is very important. You have to take care of yourself, because like what Mr. Haymore said you only get this body, you wont get another one. Just take care of it now. Don’t wait until later. JUST DO IT NOW.
I think wellness is a really difficult word to define, but I researched it and they said Wellness is an active process of becoming aware of and making choices toward a more successful existence. There are many dimensions of wellness I will mention some of them.

Dimensions of wellness
1.   Social Wellness
2.   Spiritual Wellness
3.   Physical Wellness
4.   Emotional Wellness
5.   Environmental Wellness
6.   Mental Wellness

Social Wellness Facts
·      Approximately 20 percent of Americans feel lonely and isolated during their free time.
·      Laughter really is good medicine. A strong social network can create a good mood and enhance self-esteem.
·      People who are isolated are more susceptible to illness and they also have a death rate 2-3 times higher death rate than those who are not isolated

Spiritual Wellness

Spiritual wellness has to do with our beliefs, integrity, and values. We have to realize that rights, values and responsibilities might be hard, but it’s all worth it at the end. One of the things you could do to develop your spiritual values is to examine your own. Examine your respect, honesty, family, religion, health, education, and human life. Talk to others about spiritual wellness.

Well I could keep on going on about different wellness but what really matters is that you have to CHOOSE THE RIGHT!
It might be really hard at times for you too choose the right, but it’s the only thing that can really give you wellness, health, fitness and peace. YOU and your family need peace so CHOOSE THE RIGHT!

Tongue Tattoos?!?!

TONGUE TATTOOS!?!?!

T
ongue tattoos are a new trend that is rapidly spreading across the world. It is also a new field in the world of extreme tattoos with the tip of the tongue being the most popular location.  Tongue tattooing has become popular among the youngsters who actually are interested in exploring things. For them it is the best way to express themselves in the public or in personal lives. But it is not a very easy task to get a tongue tattoo. This is because the tongue is delicate and a sensitive part of body so piercing and decorating the tongue is a difficult task to do. To decorate a tongue numerous kind of items are used like studs, pins, and pigments. So there is a need for proper hygiene before making a design on the tongue. The one who is going to paint or decorate the tongue should be using disposable gloves and all the equipments used in the process should be disinfected well to avoid any chance of infection.

JUST CHOOSE THE RIGHT! and you will save yourself some trouble!! :D

My interest.

I have a lot of interest.  For example I like going to the Los Angeles zoo, and observing all the amazing animals they have. It is very interest to see how animals act, and how they are so caring just like us humans. Animals are a great and amazing. One of my favorite animals that I love is the otter. One type of otter that the zoo exhibits is the giant otter. Giant otters live in slow moving water, streams, lakes and swamps in the Orinoco, Amazon and La Plata river systems of South America. The otters primarily food is fish. For example catfish and perch. Another interesting animal is the sifaka. This animal is endangered which makes me really sad because it is a really cool animal. Lemurs are only found in Madagascar and most of them are endangered. Sifakas mostly eat leaves, fruit, flowers, and bark. Their diet includes more than 100 plant species. A sifakas scientific name is propithecus verreauxi coquereli. I also love doing my hair or doing other peoples hair. I enjoy dying, curling, and straightening my hair and others as well. I search new hairstyles and practice doing them until I get it perfect. I also enjoy doing my sisters make-up. It is very entertaining to learn and have fun mixing colors to get new looks. For example while doing my sisters eye shadow I blend and use different colors to make her eye color look lighter, or bigger. Make-up is amazing, it can change a persons look dramatically. Another interest of mine is clothes and fashion. Fashion is a general term for a popular style, especially in clothing, footwear or accessories. Fashion. I try shopping every week to see what is in style and maybe get a new shirt.

Tyler Haws!! :D

Tyler Haws is a basketball player for Brigham Young University. Tyler was born April 11, 1991. Tyler's father Marty Haws was a basketball player as well. Tyler's father seems very supportive about his sons career. In the video we just saw Tyler's dad goes and practices with his son everyday for two hours. Tyler's dad also said that he has to work hard. Tyler seems like an amazing player, he is very impressing. It also seems like Tyler will never give up, and he will achieve his goals.

Freedom :D

Freedom is amazing and is something I would like to have. Freedom is fun and it is amazing because, you could see new places, meet new people, have fun. I think everyone deserves freedom just like a bird. Birds are able to fly wherever they want and they don’t have borders, they get to see more places than most people do.

Freedom is such an important word! Everyone deserves freedom. For example people that live in Latin America should have the freedom to be able to come to the United States. People from Latin America come to the United States to seek a new life, a better life, not just for themselves but for their family as well.

To have freedom you have to choose the right. For example if someone chooses the wrong and they break the law they are going to be sent to jail. That person lost his freedom. Another example is a student that asks his parents to stay after school in the library but they instead go out with their friends and their parents catch them they automatically loose their freedom.

Everyone deserves freedom, but only when they choose the right.
I love having freedom, so I could l say whatever I want, go out with my friends, and do what I want. My parents give me freedom, which I appreciate, but since I am still under age I have certain limits to my freedom, and I obey my limits. But to have my freedom I have to CHOOSE THE RIGHT. So if you want your freedom,

CHOOSE THE RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!

"To be happy you need freedom!!"
"Freedom is nothing but a chance to be better"

The Person I Admire The Most!

MY GRANDPA!

Robert Hernandez

My grandfather was born September of  the year 1935. Sadly he passed away march of last year.  I admire  my grandpa because he was a great example in my life.  My grandfather was abandoned  at a very young age. He was about 3 years old and he learned how to survive by himself.   My grandfather
didn't know what Love was, he was never loved as a kid and didn't know how to treat his grandchildren or children, but my grandfather changed. Before i was born my grandfather would smoke about two packs of cigarettes a day and he changed for his family. My grandfather also learned how to read and write and became a reverend.  By the time i was around 10 years old my grandfather build his own church in Mexico and taught his small town about god. My grandfather went through a lot, and suffered a lot and still reached his goal, this is why i admire him the most! :D

Dance

To be a dancer you have to work hard, work smart, and work together. Dance comes naturally but you have to work hard to be good at it. You always have to think positive and believe you are good at it.  Like chris brown said "music was made to dance."  Chris brown also says that when people dance in groups they have to work together and that they feed off each-others energy. This is why i always try my best and work with other people in classes. Working with others helps me learn more and get better grades. Chris Brown also said "Dancing is going to influence the youth." "dancing keeps you young and inspired." I agree with chris brown, dancing does keep you young and inspired.

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!
